Love, love, love, this kitchen product! I use this pot at least once a week for some of my favorite recipes! It is perfect for last minute dinners...I put all the ingredients in the pot, hit the button and go in the shower. When I am done, so is dinner! Rice comes out fluffy and perfect every time. Soups are a cinch and meat comes out tender and succulent. My tomato sauce that I usually simmer all afternoon can cook in 40 minutes in this pot! I have been trying my whole life to make my grandmother's artichokes, but I couldn't get it right until I used the steam feature on this pot. Gourmia is a wonderful company to deal with as well. My inner pot somehow got dented, and when I contacted customer service, they were very helpful in replacing the pot so I could continue to enjoy use of this product.

Just opened the box with Gourmia GP-600 (6 qt) and the pressure valve was sliding off or has been broken (cannot be properly and securely inserted into slot on top of the cover). This issue is not mentioned in the manual, therefore I assume the valve is broken. To be sure I contacted the manufacturer (phone on the box) re: Gourmia GP-600 pressure cooker. They put me on hold, claiming they will call later. Never did, despite my insistence I would like to talk to the engineer or technician during the call. Am returning the pressure cooker back. My second wrong experience with Gourmia products (out f 2) – so will pass on this brand. BTW: I did not realize that majority of 5 star reviews are either sponsored (discounted) or the cooker was free of charge to the reviewer (same for the Youtube/Amazon videos!). One of the reasons I bought Gourima GP-600 was the high rating – but it is all bogus number due to sponsored ratings. (the “normal” ratings are widely varying in 1-5 range). I advise to look at other brands and to carefully read the reviews – too many of them carry disclaimers they are sponsored (rip off!) and those, without exception, carry 5 star ratings! Very Dissatisfied customer.

I purchased one for myself about a year ago and then bought this one for my parents for Christmas. This has quickly become a kitchen staple. I'm a mom with a full time job and three young kids and work night meals are often a struggle. Boy has this electric pressure cooker changed that! I love that I can take frozen meat, some spices, and vegetables and have a full meal ready in less than a half hour. No more desperate boxed mac & cheese dinners for us!

I LOVE cooking. And I tend to really hate 1-hit-wonder kitchen items...you know, the things that are good for just one purpose and take up room. Well this Smartpot is like a 20-hit wonder. It defrosts frozen meat, it steams rice and vegetables, it browns meat and onions, it cooks dried beans without the need to pre-soak, it's a slow cooker, it's a pressure cooker, YOGURT incubator, and eggs...oh my goodness don't get me started on the eggs. Perfect hard-boiled eggs that practically shell themselves in about 10-minutes and poached eggs that are a dream.

Just recieved this item after reading/comparing reviews and, well, not exactly as wonderful as I had hoped. I don't think it's fair to include all the reviews given by people who received at a discount for review, bc it slants the ratings. There are no recipes and the booklet is not very user friendly. I winged it and added three semi frozen chicken breasts, honey barbecue sauce, salt, and brown sugar, water...and hit the poultry button.

PROS
EASE: Was so simple to throw everything in the pot, hit a button, and go about other things while dinner cooked by itself.
SPEED: It did cook the semi-thawed chicken extremely quickly, 15 minutes!....and it also got to pressure very quickly, unlike many other reviews of other pressure cookers.(the whole point is to save time, not need to wait longer for it to reach pressure than to actually cook the food, which I have read on many other models)
It's very QUIET: Virtually silent, and it makes three beeps to let you know when it's ready..as well as a locking lid sound.
I threw in some rice after the chicken had finished, hit the 'rice' button, and in 10 minutes, the rice was done in the broth.
Once my recipe prowess improves, this may be a great purchase, will need to update.
I chose this model bc it had most of the features I was looking for at an affordable price point. Initially, an ad for a competitor was on tv which is what made me interested in buying one, and that particular brand had very bad reviews, and also teflon.

CONS
The flavor left much to be desired, but in all fairness, I probably have too much water and not enough seasonings, as I said, I just winged it. This also would be no different than the other pressure cookers, I would assume. I think that most are made by the same producer in China, which I'm not thrilled about, I miss quality made items rather than mass-produced assembly from China :(
The only qualm I may have is the non-stick finish, if it's teflon or some other non-stick, and the safety of such material in heating implement. In fairness, this is very clearly stated on the product, so it's simply an issue I am unsure of for my personal preference.. Many are like this, wondering if the stainless steel type would be better, although more costly. More research needed. Other than this, it seems to deliver very well on speed, ease, etc.

Love the pot, but recipes please
I’d love to get some more recipes for precise use when cooking with my new pressure cooker, but whatever I tried so far was delicious. It really works for me, because I end up adding whatever vegetables are left in the refrigerator crisper, and the stews/ soups get so well cooked. Each flavor combination is something new to experience, and so far so good. I’m usually a very traditional cook who likes to follow recipes, so in a way the add all you want concept is invigorating. Anyone have a winning recipe to share, I’m all ears. Another point worth mentioning is the clever size and design, since it’s not too big for my limited counter space. But somehow there’s always a full dinner for whoever joins our meal. My 5 year old calls it the ‘magic soup’, since there’s always a second or third helping available.

Updating to reflect customer service. After many years of use the inner pot got damaged. It was our fault but I reached out to see if we could purchase a replacement. The response was simply sorry we don't have the inner pot as a replacement. I find this troubling as I imagine other times someone will be absent minded and place a Knife in the liner while stacking dishes and it will scratch. I now have a great working pot I can't use because the liner can leak cancer causing chemicals and there is no option to replace this for an item they still sell! I will be looking for a replacement where I can replace this part.

Took some time to learn how to use it but it has been a great kitchen tool. Hint turn to low for slow cooker items and leave the vent open. Four stars because instructions are lacking but the quality of the cooking is awesome.

I had received one of these as a Christmas gift and loved it! Unfortunately, one of the welds holding the ring in the lid for the gasket broke off. It was past the return time table with Amazon, so I contacted the Gourmia company via email on their site. They responded promptly asking for photos and my order number. Sent them pics and told them I bought their GP-600 from Amazon...no response. Since I didn't buy it off their website and did not have an order number, I figured I was screwed. A week later, a whole new lid arrived from Gourmia! This cooker is great and I am very impressed with Gourmia's customer service!

Dazed & Confused!

Directions are not easy to read or understand. I bought 2, 1 for my mom & 1 for my mother in law. My parents are seniors, but very tech savvy, they could not figure it out. Have not heard from Mother in law she is not tech savvy & I'm sure they will be lost. Please provide better instructions.

1/17/16-My parents have started to figure this out on a trial and error basis. On news years day Mom made black eyed peas & was really excited by the speed of cooking dried beans & by the results. *Note: Still haven't heard from the non-tech savvy parents!*

Great Pot. Terrible Instructions (with Workaround)

We purchased this pot about a week ago and found the product itself to be fantastic. I was looking for something that would allow more flexibility for both my wife and I for meal preparation. The delay time feature for both pressure and slow cooking, gave us a solution. We can now prepare meals ahead of time and not feel we have to drop everything we're doing to prepare a meal for a certain time. Once setup, the pot takes care of that for you. I would have been happy to make this a 5 star rating except that the manual that comes with it is horrible. Other than outlining safety features and practices, the only functions it truely outlines are cooking rice and steaming. Initially, it took far more time to figure out how the pot operated in various modes than the time saved. However, I found a workaround. It turns out that the InstaPot functions almost exactly the same and has a much more logically written manual. Using this manual as a guide (internet downloadable with a search), we have figured out all functions except BBQ. I'm inclined to believe that it's just slow cooking with Barbeque Sauce.
