It seems no matter how much we spend on a printer it lasts only 1-2 years. So this time I purchased a cheap 30 dollar printer instead of spending hundreds. It was easy to hook up, works with all our computers and devices in the house. It is a little slow and it doesn't do 2 sided printing, but for how much I spent I feel it's a great bargain. Very happy with the printer and HP's instant ink prgram.

I wanted to buy a cheap printer that came with ink and read very carefully through the fine print to make sure it did come with ink. However I still ended up with a printer and no ink or USB cord which I needed to set it up because of my old computer. So I spent the same as I would have on a brand new printer. That being said the printer so far has worked well and the color is great!

I bought this printer last year back in july. I initially bought it to replace my old printer which was exactly like this one except it was white and blue. For starters the product images showed a blue and white printer like my old one, once I ordered it the product images changed to a black printer. I was fine with it, 11 months later my printer wouldn't turn on out of nowhere. I tried multiple outlets and even tried a different power cord, nothing happened. I immediately contacted Amazon and they told me to contact the seller, I contacted the seller and they told me to contact Hp. Hp couldn't do anything because they said the printer was out of warranty which I was confused because it hadn't been a year yet. Turns out the warranty expired in 2018. I didn't buy the printer til 2019 and it was advertised as new on Amazon and on my order receipt so apparently I was sold a used printer instead of a new one. Here we are two months later since this happened and neither of the three companies has done anything about it. I don't have a printer to use now and it's hard to find one due to them being in high demand because of everything that's going on.

I've already submitted two responses, but apparently neither one has reached Amazon? I will repeat what I have sent in. The printer arrived in ample time, but I was not able to connect it to my computer because my computer was not working properly. It was contaminated with viruses, and I stated I will have my computer cleaned up before attempting connect it. This was done and I received my computer on 4/13/2023, and it was performing beautifully again! I asked the technician that worked on my computer to include the installation of the printer to the computer. Which he attempted, but did not have any success with this. Even the included ink cartridges did not operate properly, so I replaced them. However, the printer was not able to be connected to my computer? It would not print, and toward the end of the technician's efforts, the printer gave the message: "Printer is in error state"? The technician was unable to correct the problem?
So this is the reason I am requesting a refund of the purchase price to include the cost of the extended warranty. Thank you.....

HP Ink Cartridge Protection

This is a cheap all-in-one printer. The WiFi is not so hot. I had to resort to USB cable to get it to work consistently. If you can, avoid this printer. But, if you are going to use it occasionally then I would recommend it. I have it for light work. The biggest gripe I have is the HP Ink Cartridge Protection. If you want to use something other than an HP cartridges you will not be able to do so because HP will prevent it with their so called HP Ink Cartridge Protection. This is another way HP forces you to buy their ink. If you want to buy HP ink only then this will not be a problem for you. Their ink is exorbitantly expensive on a limited income.

Struggle with hp customer service (resolved)

Bought a black 3637 that was defective. HP sent a new one, it was white and I didn't even take it out of the box, just shipped it right back. They told me there are no longer any black ones left. After several calls where I didn't get the answer I wanted I was finally connected to a decision makers. She was great and sent me a coupon for the hp store. A new black OfficeJet 3830 just arrived.. I'll rate that printer when I get time to set it up.
