Details:Amazon's Prime Day Tomorrow:
(repost)

Amazon has been advertising their Prime day on their website, on TV, and through an email campaign. Here is what we know about it:
  • It is only available for Amazon Prime members ($99/year fee). There will be "100,000 deals exclusively for Prime members," according to their website.
  • They say it will be a full day of deals, "with new deals starting as often as every five minutes."
  • Last year's Prime day had a few good promotions but nothing that great, in our opinion. It was like any other day shopping on Amazon, with more Lightning deals than normal but not huge discounts like there are around Black Friday and other times of the year.
  • There will definitely be deals, especially some dollar-back promotions like "buy $60 in a category, get a $20 Amazon gift card." Amazon Kindles should be on sale, and a lot of Kindle Books are expected to have big savings.
Our suggestion. Don't stay up late or go out of your way hoping to find incredible deals. Check the deals on your schedule, and see what you like.

July to mid-August are the slowest online shopping days of the year. Advertising is also cheap this time of year, since most Americans spend more time outdoors than shopping online. Amazon is hoping to tap into the impulsive buyer crowd by creating a "Prime Day," but it sounds more like a marketing campaign to boost sales during a slow season.
