Details: | Apple TV for $80 (repost) Apple TV (newest version, model MD199LL/A) is available through a reputable Ebay seller for $80. It usually sells for around $85-100. Features video. Review video. For a comparison of Apple TV vs Roku 3, check out this article and this article. In our opinion, Apple TV is great for someone who loves Apple computers, Apple devices, and iTunes. The Apple TV integrates nicely with iTunes. However if you are not a huge iTunes fanatic, we recommend Roku 3 because of its flexibility to use many different apps and streaming video services. If you only want to watch videos on Netflix, YouTube, and Hulu Plus, then either Chromecast may be the best choice over an Apple TV. If you already have Netflix, YouTube, and Hulu Plus built-in to your smart TV, then you may have no need to get a Roku, Apple TV, or Chromecast. Amazon has recently released a Kindle FireTV which is similar to a Roku and has voice search functionality. The Kindle FireTV is still very new and is making some noise in this crowded marketplace, and may be worth looking at especially if you like Amazon's products. Also, note that many new TVs have built-in apps which allow streaming online videos, so your TV may already have some features found on the Chromecast and Roku, but not the AirPlay on the AppleTV. |
