- Western Digital Elements SE Portable 1TB USB Drive for $100. Other stores sell it for around $120. It's slightly larger than the Western Digital My Passport portable drives, but smaller than most other manufacturers' portable drives. It provides a capacity of a around 950GB. With small, leightweight design comes a performance hit. It can transfer up to around 1.3 GBytes of data per minute, or about 80 GB per hour. If you need to fill the whole drive with data, such as off-site storage or for sending a friend your complete media library via US Mail, it can take around 12 hours to fill the entire drive.
- TrendNet TEW-652BRP Wireless-N Router for $20. Don't expect much quality and performance from a $20 router, but a good solution for someone who does not have a 5+ megabit connection and has no desire to spend a lot on computer equipment. Other stores sell it for around $35.

Here is an article describing the difference between CCFL-backlit, LED-edgelit and LED-backlit. In summary:
- Regular LCDs use CCFL backlit technology
- Newer LCDs use LED-edgelit technology, allowing for deeper blacks and brighter colors, however if you look closely, edgelit can give some poor uniformity and backlight fluctuations.
- Newest LCDs use LED-backlit technology, which lets the backlight dim or even turn off in different areas across the screen, providing the best blacks.
Plasmas work very similarly to LED-backlit technology, but their glass screens are susceptible to glare (could be a bad thing if you have a light source in the room), and more susceptible to burn-in when used with gaming systems and as a computer monitor.
